Community Statement
Over four years ago I had taken the decision to pursue the large world of cyber professionally through education, the reasoning for this primarily comes from both personal and inspirational ideals. Personally I had always been interested in technology as a whole, more specifically I love learning how things work, with technology being vast in complexity and variety, I easily found my passion in cyber, networking, computing, and so much more. My passion of always wanting to learn about my own personal interest has led me down towards very interesting paths and opportunities in my life, although so much is unraveling, I take pride and joy in what I have accomplished so far.
I am involved with several groups and organizations specializing in different fields, most relevantly, I am a member of the UAT Cyber Ninjas club, a group of UAT students which have gotten together to collaborate in working in a variety of CTF and cyber competitions while also obtaining appearances in special events, training sessions, conventions, and hiring opportunities. Other than the Cyber Ninjas club, I am also actively engaged in the Threat Intelligence Support Unit, an organization created by a group of cyber professionals which have dedicated their time to provide cyber threat intelligence training and certification at the Grand Canyon University. At TISU I have studied a variety of cyber-related topics, ranging from OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) to incident response. Lastly, I am officially involved within the aviation community as an aviator, what is studied in this field is vast and pilots must understand and memorize an extreme amount of information while also being able to apply this information within an intense pressure induced and fast-paced environment.
As an individual, I currently am actively engaged with the UAT Cyber Ninjas primarily for the opportunities to share intelligence, collaborate, and network with professionals both inside and outside the group. Within the group itself however, I actively participate in meetings, competitions, and other forms of cybersecurity related activities. At TISU, I involved myself within this community voluntarily with the goal of obtaining certification and extra cyber training. Every Wednesday I drive myself from UAT to GCU in order to participate in the TISU program, where I actively listen and take notes on the topics of which are being discussed that particular day. After these sessions I also attempt to speak to other individuals that have also participated in the program in order to gain insight and potentially network myself into the cyber field. Although not directly related to my targeted field, I am also involved within the aviation community after achieving my private pilot license on March 31st of 2025. I believe becoming a pilot requires many skills of which I can apply in the field of cybersecurity, therefore I currently attempt to involve myself deeply within the aviation community by attending events, attending and participating in FAA air-safety activities/events, or simply speaking to other pilots as networking in this field can result in me ending up in many very interesting positions or opportunities.
As this statement concludes, I would like to state that this statement does not conclude every community, opportunity, or interest that I have included myself with, additional communities, organizations, and even professional organizations are a subject of matter that is constantly evolving and changing within my personal life. Like the fast-paced and constantly changing world of cybersecurity and even aviation, what I am involved in now may appear to be very different than to what I was involved with in the past or what I may be involved with in the future, no matter what path I take, my interest of how the world works may very well remain constant.
